The annual membership dinner known as Winterfest needed to be rescheduled for the summer due to Bishop Coerver's schedule. In hopes for better transparency, the Foundation will host a grants award luncheon in the summer so that grant recipients and Foundation members can meet one another. The Madison Sowder/St. Thomas Moore Justice in Action Award award recognizes contributions by an individual to improving the quality of life and upholding moral stands by personal involvement in and dedication to the advancement and fulfillment of justice and peace in our society and human endeavors. Attorney Beni Hemmeline received this award at the 2018 Judicial Red Mass dinner.

The Catholic Foundation Inc. of Lubbock began this Lenten season with the Annual Winterfest Dinner on Friday, February 16th. This event is held every winter in appreciation for all who support the Catholic Foundation, as well as the grant recipients from the previous year. At this event, the donors and grant recipients celebrated $108,000 in grants given to organizations and parishes throughout this fiscal year.
On Tuesday, October 3, the Red Mass Committee of the Catholic Foundation of Lubbock, Inc. welcomed Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman to the 17th Annual Judicial Red Mass to celebrate the beginning of the Judicial Year. Bishop Robert Coerver celebrated mass in the Kent Hance Chapel, with the reception proceeding at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center. The event was well attended by Lubbock county judges, Texas Tech Law students, Christ the King Cathedral high school students, and loyal donors and supporters of the Catholic Foundation.
The community of St. Isidore in Abernathy has a gas leak on their property. Thanks to a generous grant from the Catholic Foundation they were able to replace the gas line and ensure the safety of parishioners and visitors.

Thanks to the generosity of our dedicated donors the managed assets of the Catholic Foundation total $3.01 million this year. We are still aiming towards our goal of $5 million in managed assets, the earnings from which are used to provide grants to parishes, organizations and ministries of the Diocese of Lubbock.

Dorothy Collins Andrews, 94, of Plainview, Texas, passed away in her home on Monday, March 14, 2016, surrounded by family and friends. Dorothy and John Andrews were Legacy donors to the Catholic Foundation. This means they included the Catholic Foundation in a portion of their will or estate.
